Fountain of comfort

Where is peace when needed most
Where is life when death knocks
You fake a smile to carry on
You jab at the air to let it go
You cry it out to forget it all
The lustre and elegance is all gone
Where are the people you called friends
Where are those who shared in your plate
Those who swore to stand with you
Like sheep without a shepherd
Like a farm invaded by locusts
They gone their separate ways
They have eaten all that's beautiful.
I will help you dry your tears
And we will lie in your bed of pain
We will harp of your helpless strings
Though once healed you will vanish
I will be your fountain of comfort.
